The problem is that you have more than one product that is already stained and sealed .. Identify a place of penetration may be a product that the wood grain and color .. urges which was then sealed .. You have put a stain on a part of the cap and the task is easy .. on top of the sealant stratified Dry usual ... If an oil-based stain .. take a rag and some alcohol and clean .. it will not hurt the old surface .. If a color based on water and then with warm water and soap .... Once the new patch to go to Sherwin Williams or Home Depot and receive on-site Retouching pen as a marker Majic and play from scratch, or completely original band finsish Restaino it .... Retouching pens come in many colors .. coincides with the former single spot colors and retouch the scratches .. Here is an example of the brand's touch .. Available at The Home Depot ..

Contacts at the hardware store materials that you could be put in the right direction, try wiping with isopropanol, cheap and easy. It seems that you are using the right equipment, because even if it does not dry sand, but not too much away.
Weeks and is always a real problem ... sticky
the place where he bought the stain and see if they can help taken.
